More Controversial Cases
Ruben Cantu - Was executed in 1993 with capital murder for a shooting death. Despite being only 17 and consistently claiming innocence he was killed. Years later a key witness came forward with the truth that he was coerced into identifying Ruben as the killer.
Larry Griffin - Was executed in 1995 by the state of Missouri. Despite maintaining his innocence until his death he was still executed. His case is regarded as the strongest demonstration of the execution of an innocent man.
Joseph O'Dell - Was executed in 1977 despite evidence not linking him to the crime. O'Dell asked for other articles of evidence to be tested before his death and was denied.

What all of these cases have in common was that there was not enough evidence to convict each person. Cases like these tend to have a lot of moving variables that are often times overlooked leading to the killing of innocent people.
