More on Capital Punishment
Whether or not you see capital punishment as right or wrong, everyone can agree on the fact that justice should be the driving factor. However, due to the wide variety of issues that coexist alongside that drive for justice we must be mindful as a country that certain demographics are not being disproportionately affected by the system. Below is a variety of information surrounding capital punishment in the US, organizations that help support the inmates and a few arguments on the subject.

The United States
From May of 2019, only 29 of the United States currently allow the death penalty to be carried out. A year earlier, in 2018, there was a total of 2,721 inmates on death row.
Organizations that help inmates
Below are five organizations that pride themselves on fighting for the rights of inmates who are currently on death row.
- Amnesty International
- The innocence Project
- National Coalition to Abolish the Death Penalty
- American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)
- Conservatives Concerned About The Death Penalty
Arguments Against Capital Punisment
- For people who genuinely do not care for others death is not a punishment that deters them.
- Capital punishment intensifies systemic inequalities and social injustices.Â
- This punishment isn't reserved for the worst of the worst, just for those with not enough money for good lawyers.
